GPL Screen Selectors

There are three main screens in GPL which we are all very famliar with. They are the Startup Screen, the Mainback Screen and the Credit Screen. You may recognise these...

I thought it would be fun if we could add a little variety to our GPL experience. GPLScreens lets you manually choose an image for each mod/screen combination and GPLRandom gives you control as to which mod you want to randomise. It can also be set to run automatically on start-up or every time you start GPL, by setting it as a start-up programme within GEM+. I have also included a collection of screens, some of which I created myself and others which were available on the old SRMZ site. Simply place these folders inside your GPL/Layout folder. These utilities replace my earlier Randombackv4 of December 2020.

Layout Options Folders

Start by downloading the images. Place these options folders inside your GPL/Layout folder. Each contains subfolders for each screen-type. I have created some of these screens but many are from the old SRMZ site. Thank you to their creators.

GPLScreens

Instructions

Simply select the MOD, select the SCREEN type and then click on an image to see a larger preview. When you are happy, click the CONFIRM CHOICE button to copy the image across to GPL.

If you like, you can use the RANDOM CHOICE button to help you decide, but don't forget to click CONFIRM CHOICE to copy the image.

IMPORTANT:

You MUST save the GPLScreens.exe in your Sierra/GPL/Layout folder, otherwise it simply won't find any images.

GPLRandom

Instructions

Select the path to your GPL folder and off you go. Choose a MOD and click Submit. This will copy a relevant Startscreen, Mainback and Creditscreen across to GPL. That's all there is to it. The other buttons are all pretty self-explantory.

GPLRandom remembers which MODS were selected each time you run it. This makes it ideal to run automatically at startup. I suggest making a shortcut on your desktop and adding --auto to the Target path.

You can then add this to GEM+ and set it as a startup utility if you wish.
